The Vision Behind Chrono Odyssey
• their goal is to make overall progression just as enjoyable as endgame content
• no loading screens
Building the World of Chrono Odyssey
• evoke a sense of dread and wonder
• cosmic horror vibe of Prometheus
• fear of encroaching threat to humanity similar to Zerg in StarCraft
What Sets Chrono Apart
• have a variety of content you can play to reach endgame, not limited to msq
• exploration and crafting will have a pretty big part
Breaking Away from Traditional MMORPGs
• will not require a strict traditional trinity system, classes will have hybrid capabilities
• rather than large-scale siege battles or arena style PvP, they want to bring a unique
experience through a distinct PvEvP system
• the game is built for small scale play
• you will be able to flag for PvP
• at max level the game encourages players to stick with a five-man party
• they have a variety of weapons to move beyond fixed class roles
• above all they want to make sure healers and tanks won't struggle in solo play
Weapon Swapping and Combat Mechanics
• it will be important to swap weapons strategically to make use of different skills from
alternative weapons
• in the start phase you will be required to learn to switch weapons to beat an elite boss
• "Easy to learn, hard to master"
• combat should be less about stats, and more about your skill with combo-ing abilities
• rather than having too many skills, each skill is designed to have multiple functions
• 3 weapons per class

• unlike large-scale raids, Chrono offers more focused co-op experience with tactical play
even with a small group

• multiple parties must coordinate to prevail
• earn unique equipment linked to the game's lore
Exploration and Adventure
• labyrinths - filled with puzzles and moments of discovery, special treasure at the end
• time portals - step into the past to gather rare materials
• bounty hunting - designed as a goal to help explore the vast world
Character Progression
• boss battles and dungeons
• crafting and gathering
• Enhancements (upgrading) - powered by materials from combat, exploration and
gathering
• it will be entirely possible to reach the highest level by purely crating and gathering
Roadmap and Goal
• Public CBT in June, goal to gather feedback and improve the game
• Particularly want to improve the multiplayer experience with the CBT
• Goal to have no wrong way to progress, whether you enjoy crafting, gathering, exploring,
questing or simply engaging in combat
Expanding the World of Chrono Odyssey
• will add new regions centred around the themes of time and space
• aiming to move away from the usual structure of clearing one area to move to the next
• shouldn't be a game you play at launch and leave behind
• they want it to grow and evolve alongside the players
